America Holiday

Myself and Judy went for a three week holiday in America recently. I finally got to meet Judy's friends and family of which I have heard so much about.

We stayed with Judy's friend, Aaron, in New York for 4 days before going to Oregon (where Judy is from) for another two and a half weeks.

In New York, we went to the Natural History Museum, Walked around Central Park, Ground Zero, Battery Park. We went to the "top of the rock" (Rockerfeller centre) and got an amazing view of NY from Dusk to twilight to night. We also went to the Bronx Zoo. And l met up with Paddy and Donal some old friends of mine (not at the zoo!)

In Oregon we did lots of outdoorsey stuff. Such as Hiking, Camping, Rafting (my favourite), Caving, Canyoning etc. The first weekend we went to Sunriver with a bunch of Judy's friends. This was good fun and it was great to hang out with all the people that Judy's told me so much about.

For my all american day I went shooting with Elias, Otis and Nick. We did some amount of blasting and it was great fun. If the zombie apocalypse happens anytime soon, I'd definately head back to Mt Hood in Oregon with the lads to make my last stand there. The rest of my all American Day involved plenty of Hotdogs and a trip to the Batting Cages. Where I got my first taste of baseball and really enjoyed it.

One day, while the girls did girly stuff, myself and Cameron went for a bike spin. With him on his R1 and me on his R6 - this was great. Anyone who knows me knows what it means to me to get to see the world from the seat of a bike. This was one of my favourite days in the states. And I felt like I got to see a whole lot or Oregon doing this. (Although much of Oregon looked very blurry during this particular bike ride) I'd love to come back and do a lap of all America on my bike. I'll buy a packet of Jaffa Cakes for whoever has a boat and would like to ship my bike across from Ireland.

All in all we were at some really cool places. We rafted down the river where "the river wild" was shot and also the movie Rooster Cogburn (with John Wayne). We went to Canon Beach where the Goonies was filmed and I was at the Timberline Lodge where the movie the Shining was filmed.

While in Oregon, Judy's best friend, Sarah, got married (what a co-incidence eh?) This was a good craic, and we hung around with Sarah and Morgan for a bit, and even stayed in their new house while the honeymooners went away. I took some photos at the wedding and Myself and Judy put together an album for Sarah, to compliment the official photographer of the days album.

I will be posting up some photo's of my America Trip soon...
